Privacy Policy — HozaSend
Summary. HozaSend does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Files you send travel directly from one of your devices to the other over your own local network, and never pass through us or any third party.
Information we collect
None. We operate no servers and receive no data from the app. Nothing you do in HozaSend is reported to us or to anyone else.
Information the app handles on your device
All of the following stays on your own devices and on your own local network.
| Data | Why it exists | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Device name and a randomly generated device ID | So the other device can show you which device is offering to connect | Broadcast on your local network (LAN / Wi-Fi / hotspot) only |
| Local IP address and port | Needed to open the direct connection between the two devices | Your local network only |
| Six-digit pairing code | Shown on both screens so you can confirm the connection | Held in memory during pairing |
| Files you choose to send | The purpose of the app | Sent directly to the receiving device you approved. Received files are saved to your
chosen folder (by default Downloads/HozaSend) |
| App settings (theme, notifications, auto-accept, download folder) | To remember your preferences | Local app storage |
| Transfer history (file names, sizes, dates) | So you can see what was sent or received | Local app storage. You can clear it in the app |
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, removes the settings and history. Files you already received stay in your download folder, where they belong to you.
Network use
HozaSend uses your network only to find nearby devices (UDP beacons on the local subnet) and to carry the transfer itself (a direct TCP connection between the two devices). It works with no internet connection at all — a hotspot with nothing behind it is a perfectly good network. The app does not contact any web service, back end, or update server.
Because transfers stay on your local network, use HozaSend on networks you trust. Every connection must be confirmed with a matching six-digit code on both screens, every incoming transfer must be accepted, and every file is verified with a SHA-256 checksum before it is given its final name.
Permissions
Windows: local network access, so the app can discover and connect to your other device; access to the folders you pick for sending and receiving.
Android: network and Wi-Fi state and multicast, to discover devices on the local network; local network sockets, to carry the transfer; notifications, to show transfer progress and completion; foreground service and wake lock, to keep a transfer running while the screen is off; storage, to read the files you pick and save the files you receive.
None of these permissions are used to collect information about you.
Third parties
HozaSend contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect any.
If you installed the app from the Microsoft Store or another app store, that store may collect its own data about the download under its own privacy policy. That is between you and the store; we receive nothing from it.
Children’s privacy
HozaSend is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your rights
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. The data on your device is under your control at all times, and clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it removes it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new effective date.
